DR. DULCELINA STAHL EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION

dulcelina stahlDr. Dulcelina Albano Stahl ‘s passion for education is par excellence as exemplified by her engagement as an Adjunct Faculty for over 15 years at universities in the Chicagoland area teaching in the MBA, Masters in Health Services Administration, Master’s in Management, and Bachelor of Science in Management while holding executive positions as Corporate Vice President, United Health, Inc., Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at ExcelCare, Inc. and Associate Vice President, St. James Olympia Fields Hospital & Medical Center. Currently, she is Dean of Academic Affairs at Northwestern Institute of Health and Technology and is Area Chair/Lead Faculty, Strategic Business Management Online at the University of Phoenix where she also serves as Faculty Council Member of the School of Business. As an executive and consultant, Dr. Stahl provided seminars and workshops at various universities such as St. Louis University, Louisiana State University, and Texas Tech University in the U.S., as well as in international conventions in Bermuda and the Philippines. As a dynamic presenter, she has been featured as a speaker in state, regional, and national conventions and conferences in California, New Orleans, Massachusetts, Michigan, St. Louis, I l l i n o i s , W i s c o n s i n , M i n n e s o t a , O h i o , Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Florida, etc. In her earlier years, she was a prolific writer, having authored 75+ articles published in professional journals, co-author of a best selling book – Cancer Nursing, Chapter contributor in Master’s degree textbooks, and a Columnist for 10+ years for the Journal of Nursing Management. Recently, her interview with Marissa Yaremich on January 4, 2012 on the topic “7 Ways to break through the glass ceiling” was featured in Phoenix Forward, of the University of Phoenix at http://www.phoenix.edu/forward/careers/2012/01/7 -ways to break through the glass ceiling 1/30/2012. Dr. Stahl broke the glass ceiling as a female young executive in Corporate America. Academically, Dr. Stahl received her B.A. Summa Cum Laude, M.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from De Paul University, Chicago, IL and a Postgraduate in Psychiatric Mental Health from the Royal Park Psychiatric Institute, University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Victoria , Australia. She is a recipient of many honors and awards including Chicago Philippine Lions Club Golden Life Achievement Award, 2012; Faculty of the Year 2011, University of Phoenix; Distinguished Alumni Award, De Paul University; Arthur J. Schmidt Scholar, De Paul University; Distinguished Service Award, Illinois Business Professional Women; Excellence in Administration Award, Philippine Nurses Association of America; Excellence in Leadership Award, Bacarra USA National; Most Outstanding Filipino Award, Cavite Association of America; and the Chicago Filipino-American Hall of Fame Award for Nursing. She has also been listed in The World Who Is Who of Women and Marquis Who Is Who of American Women. Dr. Stahl’s success could not have been made possible without the loving and exemplary support of her husband of 45 years, Wendelin Walter, and her children Astania, Bryan, and Larraine. While pursuing her degrees, she had to balance the responsibilities of being a mother of three children, going to school fulltime in the evenings at De Paul University, and working full time in management and administration. She now takes pride and delight in having her adult children successful in their own professional careers and enjoys being a grandmother of 7 grandchildren.
