Mother of the Year (or mother of many years), Visitacion Tan was born on September 24,1947. She was raised in Kidapawan, Cotabato City, then later migrated to Davao until she married the late Pastor Philip Tan, Sr., who gave her five wonderful and successful children.
Mrs. Visitacion Tan is a housewife who loves to cook for her family. She owned the famous NGO Hiong House and Native Foods in Jolo, Sulu Philippines, where our very own Mr. Nick Vera Perez, was born. A very young entrepreneur mother in Jolo, she would serve the mayor and governor and other government officials and other office workers with her specialties and delicacies. She was the best culinarian in town, so to speak, always copied but never equaled.
Her parents were hailed from Madrid, Spain and China. She has total of eleven siblings, mostly girls and blessed with two brothers.
When asked “what makes you happy?,” her answer was, “Seeing all my children smile and happy makes me happy.” A total package of a mother who is loved and loved by many of NVP’s worldwide fans, her growing popularity fan bases were also supporting her all the way.
A widow to Pastor Philip Tan, Sr., they raised five wonderful children: Norman Tan- Nurse, married with 2 children; Jeannie Tan-Haynes, RN; 29 years, married with 2 children;
Nelson Tan- Anesthesiologist- Married with 4 kids; ALVIN Tan, RN, 26 years and TV Personality, Recording artist, Warner Music Philippines; Philip Tan, Jr., Engineer, married with 2 kids.
