Rey de Leon Maranan Feb 6, 1957 – August 1, 2023

Rey was born on December 28, 1956, in Batangas, Philippines to the late Colonel Andres Abrenica Maranan and mother Norma deLeon Maranan. He was the 3rd child of nine brothers. He is survived by his son Michael Rey (m. Audrey) with former spouse Sandra Schulze, his signifi cant other Belinda Nenette Serrano, and brothers Normandy (m. Teresita), Henry (m. Belinda), Edsel (m. Marilou), Allan (m. Amy), Glenn (m. Shirley Ann), Ariel (m. Carmel), Ronald (m. Teresita), & Andrew (m. Josefi na) and beloved uncle to 15 nieces & nephews and 10 great nieces & nephews.

Rey received his bachelor’s degree in fi ne arts at the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. He moved to the US at the age of 21 to join his oldest brother Normandy to establish a better life for the rest of their family here in the states.

Rey was very talented oil painter where he commissioned beautiful family portraits for many clients throughout the years. Rey was also an entrepreneur, starting businesses that ranged from apparel printing to establishing his own roofi ng business which he had successfully ran for the last few years. Rey was a very hardworking, passionate man who loved his family very much. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A Visitation was held August 10th, from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Bucaro Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 485 W. Army Trail Rd, Bloomingdale, IL. Funeral Service was held on August 11th with Prayers at 9:15 AM from Bucaro Funeral Home & Cremation Center to 10:00 AM Mass at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, 1005 E Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg, IL . Interment followed at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
