I was privileged to accompany a guest to the Official Residence of Japan’s Consul General TAJIMA Hiroshi who had invited service members both active duty and veterans, who had once served in Japan to a joyful occasion, filled with an evening of special music and fine authentic Japanese cuisine prepared by its resident Chef Satoshi Ito.

During this special event hosted by ConGen TAJIMA had announced to the group of his return to the department’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for his next assignment.

Our Filipino community will be forever grateful for the fond memories, connections, and friendship in which he shared with us over the years, during his tenure with us in Chicago. A fond farewell indeed but not the end, for we wish him continued success in his journey in the future as he temporarily returns to his homeland in Tokyo, Japan. O-Genki De! (お元気で).
