True Meaning of Christmas

One of my favorite Christmas songs is “Joy To The World,” a part of which goes like:

Joy to the world, the Lord has come Let earth receive the King Let every heart prepare Him room And heaven and nature sing And heaven and nature sing And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

I remember singing this song when I was a child going from house to house, caroling the whole neighborhood. At that time, I did not really understand the true meaning of Christmas until God revealed to me that I was a sinner who needed a savior. I thought being good was enough. I was wrong. God is more than enough in the person of Jesus. Little did I know that my heart is the place Jesus wanted to dwell so He can reside in me as I trust and obey Him.

It is my prayer that we will all experience the true meaning of Christmas this season. It is of great joy/blessing when we open our hearts to Jesus Christ and invite Him to come in and dwell with us forever.

I have used the acronym of the word CHRISTMAS to expound on its true meaning for all of us to reflect on as we enter into this season of Christmas and the coming New Year. Better yet, may we all know and experience living the life of Jesus everyday.

C. Christ – Jesus is the reason for the season.

H. Holy Spirit – Virgin Mary conceived Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit not man.

R. Rejoicing – A time of rejoicing for the savior of this earth was born to save and redeem us.

I. Intimacy with Jesus brings us back to a restored relationship with God the Father.

S. Supernatural event that marked our history with His- Story (Jesus-Story)

T. True Gift from Heaven for all of us to receive Jesus whom God sent.

M. Manger -Jesus was born in a manger as a symbol of His humility.

A Adoration of Jesus by all: Joseph, Mary, Shepherds, Angels, Wise Kings, etc., including us.

S. Salvation in Jesus alone as He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Let us pray… Lord Jesus, thank you that you came from heaven to earth to save me. I give you my heart, my life, my future and all as my gifts to You this Christmas. Thank you for your love, joy, peace, blessings and forgiveness. Use me as a vessel for You to use to bless others, in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Happy Birthday Jesus! Let us all celebrate and sing together:

Joy to the world, the Lord has come Let earth receive the King Let every heart prepare Him room And heaven and nature sing And heaven and nature sing And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Merry Christmas to all and Joyous/Prosperous New Year! I love you readers with the love of the Lord yet God loves you the most. Smile and be a blessing. . .###
