February 25 and Sunday, February 26, Adler Planetarium is goodbye to Earth and heading to Mars for an out-of-this-world event. You’ll be transported to the Red Planet, masquerade as the first Martians and experience first-hand what it would be like to live, work, and play on Mars for second annual Mars-Di Gras celebration. Mars-di Gras is free with museum admission and will be held during regular museum hours. Schedules/map will be provided to guests each day of the event detailing activities, locations and times.

March 3rd, 2017, at 7:30 PM, the University of Chicago Presents hosts innovative vocal ensemble Stile Antico at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel.

March 4 – Morton Arboretum’s Dog Admission Day, 7am-Sunset
$5 per dog and Arboretum admission. Visitors can bring their dog with them to hike the Arboretum’s 16 miles of trails. Dogs are not allowed in any of the Arboretum’s buildings, the Children’s Garden or Maze Garden.

Join us in the Sterling Morton Library for this popular and interactive story time! We’ll read stories, make a craft and then head out on the grounds for an adventure walk. Themes change weekly

April 1, 9am-12:30pm- $34-Birdwatching – In this single morning workshop for beginners, learn how to find birds, discuss equipment, what to wear, keeping track of your observations and more.

April 15 or May 20, 9-10:30am- Spring Bird Walk, $10 and Arboretum admission
Celebrate spring by searching the Arboretum grounds for nature’s brightly colored pageant of spring birds. Eastern bluebirds and eastern meadowlarks are among the many birds that return to or pass through Illinois on their way north.

April 19 – 6:30-9:30pm-$44-Backyard Bootcamp: Landscape Basics for Homeowners

April 22, 10-11:30 am or 12:30-2pm-$30-Earth Day Tea Party
Celebrate Earth Day with tea and sweet treats, then plant and decorate your own tea cup planter to take home.

April 29, 7am-Sunset-Dress Like a Tree, Get In Free Visit The Morton Arboretum on Arbor Day dressed like your favorite tree and gain free admission all day long! Outfits can range from a green or brown T-shirt and hat or participants can “branch” out and come dressed in a costume masterpiece. Pose for pictures in our photo booth.

Free with Arboretum admission – Celebrate Arbor Day in the Children’s Garden all weekend long. These are self-guided hands-on discovery activities.

May 3, 6:30-8:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 7, 8 a.m.-noon – $65 -Spring Warbler Workshop
In this intensive workshop, enjoy the spring warbler migration while learning about identification, arrival dates, migration patterns, habitat preferences and daily feeding techniques. Brightly colored warblers are one of the highlights of spring.
