Love Every Day

Valentine’s Day is a perfect day to share the wealth in the world in need of loving attitudes and deeds. Most of contemporary cultures celebrate Valentine’s Day as an opportunity for couples in love to express love for each other through gifts of fl owers, jewelry, chocolates, cards and romantic getaways at some fancy hotels and restaurants. It is a wonderful tradition we should continue to practice and hold dearly to our hearts.

Alas, not everyone enjoys celebrating this day. American culture nowadays seems to be increasingly bitter, uncaring, and divided. The adage says, “Love conquers all.” Test it out today during the annual celebration of Love Day. Extend simple gestures of care to those who need it most.

Many view Valentine’s Day as a holiday that only couples in love enjoy. Due to the fact that many people spend copious amount of money on material items for their significant others, the holiday has become desensitized from what many perceive to be the true meaning of love.

Senior couples like us enjoy the moral values that come with this love holiday. No matter which way you go about celebrating Valentine’s Day, keep in mind it’s a holiday for everyone. It’s not a reminder to despise every couple you see, nor is it an opportunity to fl aunt to others how madly in love you are with your significant other.

This year, take time out of your busy day to celebrate everyone you love. Send card to a family member of friend that you love or miss. Share with them how much you care about them. Take them out to a nice dinner or movie and celebrate the beauty that is your friendship. It may sound corny, but taking time to truly appreciate your relationship is important, making sure that it can thrive.

And, most importantly, celebrate the love you have for yourself. Take time to practice self-love in whatever way it feels best.

Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be just about romance and intimacy. And, it should not just be celebrated on February 14th–it should be celebrated every single day of our lives. It should be about love—in whichever way, shape or form, you feel it.

I LOVE YOU, IROG, EVERY DAY!!!
