Asian American Coalition of Chicago (AACC) 37th Annual Asian American Lunar New Year Banquet Hosted by the Indian American Community – February 8, 2020 at Hyatt Regency O’Hare

The 37th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration of the Asian American Coalition of Chicago, hosted by the Indian American community of Chicago headed by Rajinder Singh Mago. The major awards recipients are Michelle Mussman, Grand AA Sandra Otaka Memorial Award and Dennis Mondero, Pan AA Ping Tom Memorial Award. The keynote speaker was Cecile Shea, senior fellow on security and diplomacy at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Community Service awardees include Atty. Winnalyn Nacu Kantaris and Angelo Luis Banes Battung, Youth awardee, and other awardees representing different member Asian communities.Slated AA community to serve as Host next year is the Thai American community of Chicago. The program featured Lion Dancers, Bhangra Fance Group, “Bulaklakan” by Chicago Kalinangan Dance Ensemble, Rabum Waew Pachani by the Thai Cultural & Fine Arts Institute and the Thai Dance Performance, The traditional passing of the Gavel was given to the Thai American Community, the next year’s host of the AACC gala event.
