New Binibining Pilipinas Gazini Ganados, 5’8” tall, wins as the Philippines’ offi cial representative to the 2019 Miss Universe pageant. She has the looks of a Latina but she is of a Palestinian descent from her father’s side. She is a Tourism graduate from University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City.
Gazini was also named The Face of Binibini (Miss Photogenic) and Best in Long Gown. She emphasized her advocacy for the elderly in the Q&A, “If you win the crown tonight, whatwill you do to get more women in the workplace?”She answered: “If I win the crown tonight, what I do is to promote my advocacy. My advocacy is for us women to fi ght for our rights and for the elderly women and for us to know that someone is loving us, someone is pushing us to whatever ambitions that we have.”
If victorious, Ganados will become the Philippines’ fi fth Miss Universe titleholder, following Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015) and Catriona Gray (2018).
