Sunda Chicago Restaurant’s 10th Year Anniversary Celebration

Sunda Chicago’s 10th year anniversary celebrated May 16, 2019 for Friends & Family, VIP Party (private invite only) with 400 people in attendance at its downtown location on 110 W. Illinois. Owned by a very popular Fil-Am, Billy Dec, who’s successful in entertainment & restaurant entrepreneurship (his Sunda Nashville also celebrates its 1st year), he makes sure that some Filipino delicacies are served in his trendy upscale place, such as, pancit canton, lumpia, adobo, crispy pasta, etc , plus melding of other Southeast Asian dishes that makes Sunda quite unique as a top Asian restaurant in Chicago.

Sunda’s party held from 4 to 7pm was overfl owing with good wine & hard drinks, delicious hors d’oeuvres served by pretty, young & polite servers, main course dishes were spread out in a long table, boodle fi ght or kamayan style (white rice on banana leaves topped with chorizo, egg rolls, barbecued pork, chicken & shrimp, crispy pata, huge fried fi sh, lechon, mangoes, dragon fruit, and many others. Halo halo served by dozens of servers hand them to pleased guests. Chef Michael Morales manned the sashimi station by showing and posing in front of 3D photo booth holding a 200-pounder of a tuna, cut and demolished the gargantuan tuna to serve as sashimi in front of many spectators. What a spectacular culinary show! Entertainment for the evening was provided by Samasama Project, song by Marissa, a soprano, and a Chinese lion dance.
