Kabankalan Club of Chicago brags of its long history in existence. It is traced back in the 1980s, which was later re-named to Kabankalan City Club of Chicago (KCCC). The other Kabankalanon groups are based in New Jersey/New York, West Coast and in Toronto, Canada. Each organization has independent projects that benefi t their hometown, Kabankalan. Their projects include supporting volunteer nurses, midwives and other health workers in the Kabankalan District Hospital They also support the senior citizens, and the deaf and mute children of Kabankalan. They have other projects that include giving medicines to indigent hospital patients, Feeding Program for schoolchildren and fi nancial assistance to their deserving kasimanwas. Since there are other Kabankalanons who are scattered all over the world, and their number is growing, the group organizes annual reunions to bring each other closer to one another.

It’s most recent project is helping young children who are going back to school on 8/24/2020. There are about 106 school children in Camugao who will benefi t from this face mask project. KCCC is soliciting donations of up to $200 to purchase masks to benefi t the children. KCCC is targeting a purchase of 250 masks so each student will have at least 2 masks to use. These masks are custom-made to include a KCCC logo on it, and designed by KCCC member Johanna Mae Cana.
