Alyssa Marie de Claro Solomon celebrated her 18th Birthday Cotillion on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois. Alyssa is the only daughter of Leo and Marilin (Yllen) Solomon and has two brothers, Eugene Alex and Kenneth Jacob. Alyssa was born on February 25, 1996. She is currently a senior at Lake Park High School. Her hobbies are singing, dancing, and playing piano. She is a member of her school’s theater department and Voices of Lake Park (auditioned chorus), Action Dance Crew Competitive Dance Team, Simbang Gabi Choir and Cultural Dance at St. Isidore, St. Walter Teen Choir, and Bloomingdale School of Music. She will be attending the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a major in Engineering this coming Fall 2014. She is also a recipient of the UIC William Unger Engineering Scholarship.
The members of the Cotillion de Honor are Maria Quijano & Walter Husmillo, Angela Villanueva & Justin Cabrera, Arti Patel & Zachary Pamatmat, Emilia Majewski & Anthony Scola, Kelly Figley & Chris Sommers, Erin Brooks & Tommy Tenuta, Julianne DeClerk & Louie De Guzman, Marta Prell & Dan Peress, Angela Villamizar & Matt Reilly, Melanie Min & Russell Sobrepena, Bea Cornejo & MB Cornejo, Kayla Aseron & Carlo Aseron, Colleen Ochab & Dan Moran, Eunice Satorre& Mark Nguyen, Erlinda Dela Cruz & Miko Dela Cruz, Cecille Calderon & Cris Diaz, Micah Perez & Kenneth Jacob Solomon, Nina de Castro & Eugene Alex Solomon, and Alyssa Solomon & Jason Solomon. They danced the Cotillion Waltz and Fun Dance. The dances and the grand entrance were choreographed by Katrina Fajardo of St. IsidoreSimbang Gabi Dance Crew.
The members of the Junior Court are Myrant Pena, Jasmine Perez, and Emma Pidding. The members of the Little Court are Lyle Santiago, Keianno Pena, Gabrielle Husmillo, Andrea Cataquiz, Hana Waegner, Téa Pidding, and Nina Delas Alas. The Flower Girls are Lulu Mindo-Santiago and Nara Ardiente-Cruz. The Ushers are Edger & Richmond de Claro and Joseph Calderon.
Alyssa and her family would like to thank all of the guests, choreographer Katrina Fajardo, the Cotillion Entourage and their parents, ushers, coordinators, program directors Gem & Cora Mindo, committee assistants (Dr. Maria Tuason, Marie Aseron & Nerisa de Castro-Godmother), and Emcee, Mrs. Linda Liwag & Sergio (See pictures). The aunts and uncles present are Monette Solomon, Ace Dela Cruz, Jenny & Butch Solomon, Emma & Ed de Claro, Chona de Claro Villanueva, and Myrsa & Tony Pena. Our heartfelt gratitude to Ves & Maby de Claro (cousins Noel, Tessa & Keianna), and Michael Francis from the Philippines for arranging and designs of gowns.
Special thanks to the Philippine Engineers and Scientist Organization (PESO) Past Presidents & First Ladies, Officers & Members, 18 Roses and 18 Candles/Wishes participants, Invocation by Gil delas Alas, the Creative Imprints Plus (Nell, Lain, ad Joseph Frias), Veronica Leighton and Joe Mauricio of VIA TIMES, Dinner Entertainers – PESO Past President Gal Casquejo, cousin Carlo Aseron, uncles Arnie Aseron & Ed de Claro, and DJ Aris Topacio (co-Emcee and arranger of picture montage).
It is with great honor that some members of the Cotillion who are in college became part of the Entourage: Kelly FIgley (Ball State University), Erin Brooks & Dan Moran (Illinois State University), and Tommy Tenuta (University of Illinois at Chicago).
The presence of those from out of town were also recognized: Bong & Jocelyn, Paule along with Christine and children of Vancouver, BC, Canada; May, Emma and Téa Pidding of San Diego, CA; Vincent Dela Cruz of Fairfield, CT; Ace, Erlinda and Miko Dela Cruz of Phoenix, AZ; Ed, Emma, Edger & Richmond de Claro, Myrsa, Tony, Mykie & Keianno Pena, and Chona& Angela Villanueva of Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Alyssa was so honored the presence of Mrs. Joan FIgley of St. Walter, Mrs. Stacie Murray, Brian & Brianna, and friends from Lights, Camera, Dancin’ – Dan Peress, Julianne DeClerk, and Marta Prell; Odie & Mellot Carlos and Daphne of Simbang Gabi; Ron Zenarosa (FAACS) & Sunny; Fidel Garcia (FAN), friends from IDOT (The Haider, Alex & Jeff Househ, Cisco & Ana Abreu, Suleyman & Michelle Tulgar); IDOT Pinoys (Benny & Tessie Epino, Lino& Tessie Brillantes, Manny &Lette Lao, Linda Quindipan, Ron & Sunny Zenarosa, Leo & Theresa Tamayao); The Husmillo/Perez/Bowl Families; relatives from San Luis and all of you who became part of this memorable event.
Last, but not least, Alyssa would like to thank Grandpa Gene who passed away last November 2013, Grandma Amy and Lola Ester for taking care of her since she was a baby.
