PH Consul General Joins Executive Board of The Chicago Consular Corps

The Consular Corps of Chicago elected Philippine Consul General Gina Jamoralin as one of the two newest members of its Executive Board for 2018-2019. The other new member elected was Consul General Mantvydas Bekesius of Lithuania. The election was held during the Consular Corps’ first General Assembly meeting for 2018 which was held on June 6, 2018 at the Hilton Hotel and Towers in Chicago. The Chicago Consular Corps represents over 80 countries from around the world, composed of career consuls general and honorary consuls, with consular jurisdiction over Illinois and other US states in the Midwest.

The Consular Corps Executive Board administers the affairs of the Consular Corps. The Board is composed of eight (8) officers headed by the Dean, Vice Dean, 2nd Vice Dean, Treasurer, Secretary, Legal Counsel and two Representatives- at-large. The current Dean is Consul General Patricia Maza-Pittsford of El Salvador. The members of the Executive Board are the Consuls Generals of Dominican Republic and Pakistan and Honorary Consuls of Nepal, Barbados and Belgium and including the newest members, Lithuania and the Philippines.

Consul General Jamoralin, who arrived in Chicago on 31 January 2018 to assume her new post as Consul General after serving as Philippine Consul General in Honolulu for three and a half years, thanked the Consular Corps for their support and warm hospitality and looked forward to working with the Consular Corps and the Board on projects to promote the mandate of the Consular Corps in Chicago.
