CALLING ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OF FILIPINO DESCENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ESSAY WRITING CONTEST SPONSORED BY THE PIWC 2017

Jo Wee Sit, the indefatigable retired public school teacher and ongoing chairperson of the Essay Writing contest sponsored by the annual Philippine Independence Week Committee (PIWC), is calling all high school students — Filipinos or of Filipino descent- to join this cultural-educational Essay Writing contest this year, during the celebration of the 119th Philippine Independence Day. It is open to all high school students.

The ESSAY WRITING CONTEST will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017, from 10 am to 12 noon, at the EBG SYSTEMS, at 3525 W. Peterson Ave., Suite 324, Chicago, IL 60659 Five Cash prizes will be awarded to the five winners, respectively, as follows: ($300, $200, $150, $100, $50). All participants will receive $20 each on the day of the contest. The five major awards will be given at the PIWC Gala Night on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Marriott O’Hare, 8535 Higgins Rd., Chicago, IL 60631. Winners’ dinner ball tickets are free.
