Matilde B. Bosque’s 100th Milestone Birthday

Born on March 28, 1919 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, MATILDE BOLOSON BOSQUE, just celebrated her 100th Birthday with family, relatives and friends at the Glendale Lakes Golf Club in Glendale Heights, Illinois.

Matilde, determined since childhood to be an educator, retired as a public school Master Teacher after her stint as High School Principal of Pacifican Colleges of Villasis, Pangasinan. She earned Elementary Teacher Certificate (ETC), Bachelor of Science in Education (BSE), Bachelor of Arts (AB) and Master of Arts (MA).

As a Manila college student, she got married to Bartolome Bosque, Sr., a WWII veteran, formerly with the Presidential Guard Battalion (PGB) in Malacanang Palace under Philippine President Roxas. Husband and wife then settled in Pangasinan where Matilde taught and Bartolome served as Municipal Development Officer (MDO) of Presidential Arm on Community Development (PACD). They have two sons, Bart, Jr. and Mario.

Matilde’s centenary birthday fete was attended by her two younger sisters from Maui, Hawaii, Segundina M. Bolosan and Margarita B. Duran, brother Irineo F. Bolosan of Skokie, and other relatives and friends.

The celebrant’s advice: “While alive, keep learning, go to school, earn degrees.”##
