Ambassador Romualdez Shares The Philippine Government’s Build, Build, Build Infrastructure Program With Business Executives in Chicago

Chicago, 13 November 2019 – H.E. Jose Manuel Romualdez, Philippine Ambassador to the United States, shared the Philippine economic story and massive infrastructure program of the Duterte Administration with business executives from the Midwest and the Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce (FPACC) at Hyatt Regency Chicago O’Hare on 9 November 2019.

Filipino-American chamber leaders from all over the U.S., led by FPACC President Marie Cunning, officers and members of Philippine American chambers based in Greater Chicago, Washington, D.C., Greater Houston, Arizona, Pacific Northwest (Seattle), Las Vegas, San Diego, Silicon Valley, South Bay Los Angeles area, Oregon, Central Florida, and other chambers listened to the Ambassador’s remarks.

Ambassador Romualdez, together with Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin, also met other business CEOs and executives and officers of non-profit organizations based in the Midwest, some of whom flew all the way from Seattle to meet the Ambassador.

During the meet and greet, Ambassador Romualdez discussed various economic and business concerns with the participants. The participants also viewed two video presentations on the rise of the Philippine economy and developments in the Build, Build, Build program. During his keynote address, Ambassador Romualdez shared the good news about the Philippines’ rapid and sustainable economic growth, which is one of the fastest in Asia. He also delved into the $175-billion Build, Build, Build infrastructure initiative of the Duterte Administration. He encouraged the business executives to take a closer look at the Philippines as a blue-chip destination for foreign direct investments, and a top source of high-quality, value-for-money goods and services in an uncertain global economic environment.

He invited the executives to come and visit the Philippines and see for themselves the good news that is positively transforming the country. He noted that the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. – in coordination with the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in New York – can provide additional information and assist in arranging meetings or business missions to the Philippines.
