The Buniao & Ong Nuptials

There was briskness to the cool afternoon air as Heather Nicole Buniao and Michael Tian Ong exchanged their vows in front of God, their family and friends at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church in Lemont, Illinois last October 23, 2021. The only child of Sue and Claro Buniao, Heather wed Michael, the youngest of three siblings of parents Virgilio and Yolando Ong after a much anticipated two year engagement. In a solemn, traditional Filipino marital ceremony, the young couple received unconditional support and love from their sponsors: Primary Sponsors included Mrs Norma Apura, Mrs Della Gepilano, Dr Loyda Loria, Mrs. Mary Ann Miguel, Mrs. Gemma Nicolas, Mrs. Matilda Ong, Mrs. Araceli Placido, Mrs. Elizabeth Regacho, Mrs. Alma Viudez and the gentlemen Mr Reynaldo Suaybaguio, Mr Gilbert Sinco, Mr Joven Loria, Dr. George Miguel, Mr Willie Nicolas, Mr Leonardo Ong, Mr Rudy Placido, Mr Rafael Garcia and Mr Ramon Viudez. There were also the Secondary Sponsors: The Arrhae or Golden Coins, Mrs Ellyn Vea and Mr Romel Adaya, for the Veil Mrs Claire Sabala and Mr John Sabala, and cord sponsors Mrs Mary Ann Parocha-Fernandez and Mr Caesar Apura.

Reception followed at the posh and modern Lowe’s Hotel in Rosemont and about 300 guests dined on steak, salmon, chicken and shrimp, following a bountiful round of drinks and appetizers at the lobby prior to dinner. Entertainment was provided by DJ Archie Topacio, and the open bars and the grand dessert tables made sure everyone had their fill of the happy occasion.
