According to the just released 2017 Virta Health Prediabetes Report:
>> 42% of Americans are worried they’re going to develop prediabetes.
>> 11% of Americans have prediabetes.
>> 16% of Americans have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
To compile the study, the data scientists at Virta Health [https:// www.virtahealth.com/]—an online specialty medical clinic that helps patients reverse their type 2 diabetes without surgery or medication—asked 1,000 Americans about prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. So why are so many Americans concerned?
>> 70% of Americans know someone with type 2 diabetes, and 26% say this person is a close friend or family member.
>> 54% of Americans believe type 2 diabetes cannot be reversed but can only be managed (even though this is not the case).
