Romeo (Bobby) R. Castaneda September 10, 2022

Romeo Castaneda, affectionately called Bob/ Bobby, passed away on the evening of September 10, 2022. Immigrating to the United States from the Philippines at the age of only 18 years old, Bob Castaneda lived the “American Dream”. Meeting his wife of over 44 years in Chicago, Bob and Nina had three children. As a self-made business owner for over 25+ years, Bob was able to provide a wonderful life for his family including a beautiful home in Aurora, IL, and higher education for his children.

On most days, you’ll fi nd Bob working in the garden or making frequent Home Depot visits for all his home renovation projects. Bob was a kind and generous spirit as he rarely said no to anyone that needed his help, especially his children and family.

Bob is survived by his wife: Nina; his children: Christopher (Elise), Chanel (Kris), and Christian (Candice); his granddaughters: Elena, Estelle, Eliza, Gabrielle, and Isabelle; his siblings: Kuya Fred, Manang Lena, Monching, and Geegee; and his many in-laws and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Godofredo and Rizalina Castaneda.

Visitation was held at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N Cicero Ave., Chicago, IL. Catholic prayer service was held in the evening.
