Showing to the world the strong threshold of their everlasting relationship, Samuel (Sam) and Zenaida (Zeny) Bayot, longtime Chicago residents and personalities, celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary last July 20, 2019 at the Holy Name Cathedral, with a reception following at the rooftop party room of New York Private Residences, a condominium building on Lake Shore Drive.

Sam and Zeny Bayot’s love story magically started on a love-at-first-sight romantic story that happened in Zeny’s hometown in Marinduque, Philippines. A Manileno from Tondo, assigned on a work project as an engineer in Marinduque, Sam courted Zeny into the road to victory. While Zeny had plans to return to the U.S. on a working visa solo, she had to rearrange to include a fiance upon her re-entrance to U.S. On July 20, 1969, they were pronounced officially and legally as Mr. & Mrs. Samuel Bayot at St. Vincent de Paul Church in San Marcelino, Manila, Philippines.

Their happy marriage was blessed with three children (May, Jay and Manny) and two grandchildren. Currently both happily retired, they enjoy traveling together whenever and wherever their whims would take them these days, to Philippines and anywhere around the world.

The important participants in their renewal of vows are the following: Principal Sponsors: Amb. Barry Cusi, Ms. Lucia B. Freitag, Drs. Ruperto & Amee Mayuga, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Reyes; Flower Girls: Avery Ponte Mendoza, Mikaela Jude Ponte Navigar, and Reese Dayrit; Ring Bearer: Quintin R. Bayot; Coin Bearer: Joaquin R. In lieu of gifts, guests were requested to donate to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, 4047 Chapel Dr., New Franklin, WI 54229, the place where the Bayots religiously and frequently visit and pay homage.
