So excited to report that CPRTV (Chicago Philippine Reports TV), Via Times’s sister broadcast media and the only Filipino TV show in Chicago, is now back, alive and kicking, premiering its post-Covid lockdown shows, featuring our most exciting old and new hosts and personalities with wider coverages on most exciting community activities and events.

Proud to announce that we have now introduced Zoom digital interviews and presentations plus outside (offline) live coverages around our community.

Actually, CPRTV has never been off the air throughout the Covid season as we had been replaying our old shows together with some new commercials on Chicago Cable 25, through lockdown months. Indeed, we never failed our viewing audience in our community. We never left them despite COVID, and same thing is true with your favorite Via Times Newsmagazine. WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS TOGETHER, REMEMBER!

You can also watch now the whole show on YouTube Channel besides watching it on Comcast, RCN and Wow Cable Channels, and some special interviews on our website, www.viatimes,net and on Facebook social media.

My first exciting offline CPRTV interview was held last Sunday (September 6) at Tita Mia’s Filipino restaurant in Niles. My guest was Commissioner Herman Martir from Dallas, Texas, the current Commissioner for the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian American and Pacific Islanders. I caught up with the group after their rally in some neighboring churches, at the fellowship event attended by some members and friends of some Filipino Christian churches in support of President Donald Trump’s candidacy. Mr. Martir is a pastor himself and he gave a most interesting information about the AAPI group, its roles, support and efforts that it does for the reelection of President Donald J. Trump. Q&A’s followed after a sumptuous dinner.

Here’s another community personality that has sought to utilize her expended energy into something productive and useful for herself, her family and friends during the imposed lockdown for the last six months. (Last month feature was Neriza Tan-Pineda, Ms. Mask creator).

She’s none other than “Princess” Alicia Monk, a miss bubbly personality herself, as her fave social dancing pastime has been temporarily stopped. As the pandemic calls for stay-at-home times, Alicia resorted to her never-forgotten, woke-up childhood talents once again in cooking and gardening. She says,”Growing up as a teenager, I used to cook for my family and enjoyed tinkering around in our backyard garden in Quezon City.”

“Even my husband, “Prince” Harry, has been so delighted with his new talents that his wife has shown him, even you, my ninang V and ninong Joe (referring to me and my hubby) have been the recipients of my special baked delicacies, pandisal, empanada, hopia ube, banana bread, etc. Frankly speaking, it has made me feel good and useful that I have been able to do something, be productive through this pandemic.”
