Jennifer was preceded in death by: father, Ricardo Calma, Sr., brother, Ricardo Calma, Jr., grandparents Eladio and Jovita Angeles and Serafi n and Raymunda Calma. She left us unexpectedly after her beautiful heart decided to stop beating and passed away like a sleeping beauty, surrounded by her loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Growing up in Cardona, Rizal Philippines prior to migrating to Chicago, Illinois, she witnessed incredible changes to her world, having served the church and the community both in the Philippines and United States. She was a President of Chicago Unity Lions Club, an Adviser for Chicago Hope Lions Club, Charter Member of Phoenix One World Global Artists Lions Club and served the church singing in the choir at St. Luke’s Parish and as part of the PIC (Philippine Independent Church) Band.

Jennifer graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Galang Medical Center College and completed her Early Childhood Teacher Certifi cation from Seton Montessori Institute. Her love of children and in facilitating a natural passion for learning was evident in the success of the kids who were under her wings at Let Us Care Montessori School. Her calling to work to make a difference in the healthcare arena, proved her compassion and dedication as the Administrator of FMR Home Health, Inc.

She was the life of the party. Coming from a musically inclined family, you will often see her leading the crowd in a “line dance” while showcasing her dance prowess gracefully. Jennifer would also rock the Karaoke microphone. Her laugh was infectious. She always found joy in everything including the adversities in life. She loved to cook and was famous for “Mommy Jing’s Sweet Spaghetti and Siopao”. Her creativity was also expanded in cross stitching and graphics design.

Jennifer was an amazing musician, who played the clarinet and performed in multiple events nationwide in the Philippines under the baton of the late Maestro Rodolfo Pascual, Sr. of Band 5. In the midst of Covid pandemic, she went back into playing the clarinet after so many years via BIGO Live, a popular global livestream app/platform that lets users to share not only their talents but also favorite moments, make friends around the world and monetize their videos. In her case, she created J&B La Familia Agency and met her “extended family”.

Her love for her family was selfl ess and immeasurable. They were her greatest achievement and her world. She always put her family fi rst and worked hard to provide everything they needed. While her family and friends are profoundly devastated by her loss and will miss her vibrant energy and zest for life, they have comfort in knowing she lived every single day, being the best wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece or friend, you could ever have.

Although our collective hearts are heavy with grief, our Angeles-Calma-Zamora are grateful for your kind expression of sympathy and thoughtfulness. Your prayers and support touched our hearts deeply and will be remembered with love. Requiem Mass was held on August 20th to celebrate Jennifer’s Life and Legacy.
