Overnight, the Illinois Lottery set up a spectacular 35-foot giant disco ball in preparation for its 50th anniversary celebration in Chicago… and have a very cool time-lapse video of it. This disco ball took months to make and has nearly 1,900 gold tiles that were individually fixed to it.
The Illinois Lottery is turning 50 this month and to mark five decades of Illinoisans playing, winning and giving back to the State, it hosted a groovy celebration in Chicago’s Pioneer Court on July 18. The Illinois Lottery threw it back to 1974 with a spectacular 35-foot giant disco ball in a disco-themed, fun-filled 50th anniversary extravaganza!
The event featured a live DJ, interactive photo booth and the Illinois Lottery Draw Ball Machine – giving participants a chance to draw a number and win cash prizes of $500, $150 or $50 as well as Instant Tickets and other fun prizes. Over $10,000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs.
