Dear Media Friends, We hope you are doing well. Thank you so much for your continued support in sharing our previous columns and other story pitches. We truly appreciate your partnership. Many people continue working after age 65 and are often unsure about when they should enroll in Medicare. This month’s column provides important information about Medicare enrollment, including when it may be appropriate to delay enrollment and how to avoid potential penalties and coverage gaps. We hope you’ll consider sharing this helpful information with your community.
Thank you again for your continued support. We sincerely appreciate all that you do to help keep your readers informed.

Historic Chicago ordinance advances AANHPI data equity
Good afternoon, I wanted to follow up on the press release shared earlier last week regarding the historic AANHPI data equity ordinance recently passed by Chicago City Council.
This ordinance marks a significant step toward improving how Chicago collects and reports demographic data across city agencies, helping address long-standing gaps that have obscured disparities among diverse Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.
We would be happy to coordinate interviews, provide additional background or connect you with community leaders and advocates involved in the effort.
Please let me know if there is any interest in covering the story or if I can provide any additional information.
Best, Emily Diaz Communications Coordinator CASL

AANHPI data equity
Please see the attached press release regarding a historic ordinance recently passed by Chicago City Council advancing AANHPI data equity in Chicago. Asian and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities are often grouped into broad categories in Chicago city data, masking disparities across dozens of distinct ethnic groups. The ordinance aims to improve how the city collects and reports demographic data across agencies.
CASL is available for interviews and can connect media with:
• policy experts on implementation and impact
• community members affected by current data gaps
• coalition partners involved in advocacy efforts
• Ald. Nicole Lee (pending availability) Please feel free to reach out with any questions or interview requests.
Best, Emily Diaz Communications Coordinator CASL
