Cook County Commissioner Josina Morita, Alderwoman Nicole Lee, And Alderwoman Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth To Host Joint City And County Asian American Heritage Month Celebration

On Tuesday, May 14, 13th District Cook County Commissioner Josina Morita, 11th Ward Alderwoman Nicole Lee, and 48th Ward Alderwoman Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth will host a celebration in recognition of Asian American Heritage Month at the Cook County Building. Commissioner Morita and Alderwoman Lee made history in 2022 as the first Asian American women to serve in their respective offices, and Alderwoman Manaa-Hoppenworth became Chicago’s first Filipino American City Council member when she was elected in 2023.
