Chicago Hosts First US Political Rally for Roxas-Robredo Dream Team

While political parties are gearing up for the much-anticipated 2016 elections in the Philippines, Filipinos overseas are also staging various online campaign strategies to vouch for their presidential and vice presidential candidates. Here in America, Filipino Americans have expressed through social media their favorites. In Chicago alone, “Filipinos Abroad and Friends of Mar and Leni” was organized to rally behind the Dream Team of Mar Roxas for President and Leni Robredo for Vice President in the coming 2016 Philippine national elections.

Mr. Jun De Guia, organizer of the group for Mar and Leni in Chicago said, “This is our way of influencing our friends and relatives to vote for the continuation of Daang Matuwid. We truly believe that Mar and Leni are the most capable of taking the leadership in the 2016 elections.”

Chicago is the first city in the US to stage a political rally for Mar and Leni. This is going to be held at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare. Up to a hundred supporters of Mar and Leni are expected to show up on December 5, 2015. RSVP is required to attend this political rally that will start at 12 noon. No less than the most notable, highly-respected and outstanding Filipino American leader, Ms. Loida Nicolas-Lewis, is going to lead the campaign-rally for the Dream Team of Mar and Leni for 2016.

In a phone interview, Ms. Lewis said that “Filipino Americans should actively voice out their opinion and get involved in the coming 2016 Philippine elections. She encouraged everyone to become dual citizens so they could participate in this significant political process.” “I like the Dream Team of Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo because of their intent to pursue President Aquino’s vision of Daang Matuwid,” she added. “

The Chicago political rally for Mar and Leni is expected to be echoed to other key cities in the United States,” explained by Cindy Flores, who is an Ilonggo and one of the organizers of this event.
