Unheard Voices of Care Closing Reception Honors Filipino Nurses

The Filipino American National Historical Society – Greater Chicago Chapter (FANHSC), in partnership with CIRCA Pintig, House of Nurses: An American Journey, and the International Museum of Surgical Science, concluded the Unheard Voices of Care: Filipino Nurses in America exhibit with a Closing Reception
on August 2, 2026, in Chicago.
The program featured welcoming remarks by Ruben Salazar, a review of the exhibit’s achievements, inspiring addresses from Consul General Atty. Melanie Rita B. Diano and Alderwoman Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth, and cultural performances by the Santacruzan Cultural Group of Greater Chicago.
The Santacruzan Cultural Group was honored to perform twice during the event. Their participation was especially meaningful, as most of the group’s members are nurses, making their performances a heartfelt tribute to Filipino healthcare professionals whose compassion and dedication continue to make a lasting impact in the United States.
The closing reception celebrated the remarkable contributions of Filipino nurses while honoring their legacy of service, resilience, and excellence, ensuring that their stories will continue to inspire future generations.
