Dr. Cesar T. Abiera was born in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines on February 25, 1927. He entered his final rest to be with the Lord on August 7, 2015 at the age of 88 due to Congestive Heart/Kidney Failure at Orlando East Hospice in Orlando, Florida.

He leaves his wife of 65 years, Ester Nabong Abiera, children: Cesa,r Jr. (Wife Helen; grandchildren Lana (Husband Brian Albrecht) and Sean; greatgrandchildren Maddox and Channing); Jonathan (Wife Nancy; grandchildren Sandra (Husband Mike LaGioia); great-grandchildren Vincent, Danielle and Joey; Nathan (Wife Rose); greatgrandchildren JJ, Joshua and MilaRose; Jeffrey (Wife Ellen): Arlene (George Salis); and grandson JC.

He is the oldest son of Antonio Z. Abiera and Salud P. Tobias with a total of n10 children. His brothers and sister are Tony (Esther), Fely Aduana, Soledad Luague, Rudy (Marina), Minda Ulangkaya, Romy, Edna (Fred Benemerito), Rudy (Marina), Sally (Mike Beloso), and Ruby (Rudy Figueroa).

He was a very active member of Knox United Methodist Church in Manila, Philippines and Faith Community Presbyterian Church in Chicago, Illinois.

He is known by his family, friends and loved ones as hardworking, smart, funny, tall, fair/handsome, multi-talented and a great chef with a big heart to serve. He was a WWII Guerilla Fighter at age 15, a dedicated choir member in church, a great father who supported/inspired his children to be in professional fields as a doctor, dentist and medical/ administrative executive.

In his early days, Cesar won Elementary School singing contest. He had diverse life experiences such as being a Pilot; Practiced Dentistry after the War and other medical fields.

He migrated to Chicago in 1959 with the help of his brother, Tony, who was Finance Officer for Philippine Consulate. He later pursued another career as a Registered Medical Technologist. He was the Hematology Supervisor at Rush Presbyterian St Luke’s Hospital; later worked in various positions at Grant, Henrotin, Norwegian and Martha Washington Hospitals in Chicago. Later in his career, he was an Entrepreneur: owned Subway Sandwiches fast-food chains franchise and started a Medical Supply Exports business. After retirement, he served as caregiver/lover for many years to his beautiful wife, Ester.

He was the ideal eldest “Kuya” who was looked up to by all his brothers and sisters. Cesar is remembered and cherished as a very loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, co-worker/business partner, and many others.
