The Chinese Lunar New Year 2019 celebration officially starts on February 5 and runs until February 19, giving honor to the animal pig, according to the Chinese’s annual zodiac cycle.

Unlike the universal New Year celebration celebrated on December 31st, the Chinese honor their new year on different dates each year, according to the new moon of the month to ring in the new year.

Chinese Lunar New Year is also known as the Spring Festival in modern China, when folks honor their ancestors, their homes, their heavenly deities, and feast like there’s no tomorrow.

The Chinese new year celebration is often alive with noice, inducing banging of pots and pans, parades and dragon blessings. It follows the traditional Chinese calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar that we follow.

Some American towns like Butte, Montana, celebrate Chinese new year annually with a rowdy, joyful citizen-infused parade complete with a Mai Wah museum dragon that blesses the doors of local businesses. For those whose birth year falls in the year of the pigs this year may want to be more cautious as they are the focus of the celebration.

Here in Chicago (and other parts of the world, particularly Southeast Asian countries), Chinese Lunar New Year is celebrated with a rambunctious parade characterized with loud firecrackers in welcoming the new year.

BACON-LOVERS, REJOICE! According to the Chinese, the Year of the Pig is a symbol that we haven’t seen since 2007, since there are twelve animals in the Chinese Zodiac. Legend has it that long time ago, the Jade Emperor decided the order of the zodiac animals based on the order in which they arrived at his party. The pig came dead last, because he overslept.

Since each animal in the Chinese zodiac corresponds to a person’s birth year, the Year of the Pig does not sound especially promising for some individuals born in one of these years–1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, and looking forward to 2019. People born under this specific sign of PIG tend to be kind, peaceful, resilient and generous.

The Year of the Pig runs from the official start of the 2019 Chinese New Year February 5 through January 24, 2020;

That’s nearly a full year of avoiding casinos or sticking to your current career to those other animal signs affected negatively by the Year of the Pig. Just to play it safe, consult your feng shui advisers. Gong Hei Fat Choy!

Why Democrats Hate Trump?

It’s because the Republicans are not going to give in in trying to get funding for the border wall. The shutdown over the wall issue is about Democrats hating Trump so much that they want him to lose.

What does it take for the Democrats to realize that we need more money for the broken border? They can’t understand that America needs to win and Republicans are not going to give in.

To Trump haters, you have the following choices:

Go to North Korea and try to cross the border (12 years in hard labor) . Go to Russia and try to cross the border (Jail time).

Go to Iran and try to cross the border (If you’re accused of being a spy, jail term or shoot on the spot).

Go to China, try to cross the border (You will get shot).

On the contrary, cross the U.S. borders and you get jobs, Social Security benefits, pension, and education for your children.

So why can’t Americans protect their God-given rights as citizens of the United States of America? BUILD THE DAMN WALL!
