The International Design Awards (IDA) based in Los Angeles just announced Lladró as the winner of the 2021 Gold Medal in Jewelry design, for its “Actinia” Collection.
The International Design Awards (IDA) recognizes, celebrates and promote design visionaries as well as discover new talent in Architecture, Interiors, Product, Graphic and Fashion Design.
The organization normally does an event in Los Angeles, but this year the celebration will take place virtually.
The fashion runway combined two different creative universes, each with their own stamp of identity but with common denominators: celebrating life and a love for nature as sources of inspiration, and crafts as the language of expression.
An experience that showed how Lladró porcelain jewelry and fashion make the perfect tandem.
The challenge of turning a piece of jewelry into a work of art has united the creative talent of the Romanian designer Raluca Buzura with Lladró’s consummate technical control of porcelain. The result is Actinia: a collection of eight dazzlingly beautiful pieces.
Breaking molds in the world of contemporary jewelry in porcelain
The new jewelry collection Actinia joins Lladró’s fast growing catalogue of contemporary jewelry with already ten successful collections conceived as highly symbolic artistic expressions, and inspired by the signature elements of the brand’s universe, such as nature and color.
Each piece of jewelry is a work of art that takes shape in porcelain, an original material that makes each piece of jewelry truly unique.
Actinia jewelry is adorned with 3-micron gold-plated 925 sterling silver. They are sewn by hand (except for the earrings which are not sewn) and the back is leather.
Like all Lladró creations, the Actinia pieces have been made entirely by hand at the brand’s workshops in Valencia.
