My take on 2020… He’s got the whole world in His hands

Pondering on what Covid 19 has done for me instead of to me? 2020 to say the least changed all our lives. Covid 19 in retrospect affected each of us regardless. It was unforgiving and spared no one on its path.

Numbering our losses, restrictions, travel ban, its toll on our mental health- is one too many to count, I choose awareness and to bloom where I am put. My mom taught me that. No matter whatever is going around me, our Heavenly Father is still in control. The song Trust His heart rings so true.

(Lyrics below)

I still believe He’s got the whole world in His hands. He does.

I choose hope and believe that I will become a better person out of this, better than yesterday – a kinder me, a more understanding me, a more wholistic me. An insight on who your true friends are, their color does not fade. Clarity on people appreciation and people filtering is a valuable lesson learned who belongs in my inner circle and those who don’t. Being so far away when my mom took her last breath was too painful. Death was her saving grace. It took me awhile to realize my why’s. When waves of grief hit me, I know mom is just right there watching us. I choose to manage expectations by not expecting anything out of anyone at all and if and when they do step up- I am grateful.

Choosing my mental health – unknowingly when the negative voices’ volume is turned up, I tend to stay there for awhile. It’s not how we are made to be, thus the saying you can’t give what you don’t have. Not choosing myself, keep pushing till I run dry – is a huge price to pay.

Responding rather than reacting, understanding rather than ridiculing, giving second chances rather than giving up, finding band aid solutions rather than digging in – these I hope for.

Control – something only I have a hold on, control towards me. Life is too short to spend regretting, wishing you’re someone else or hoping where you’d rather be. Know that in the darkest of times – you will see your light post and truly engrave in your heart that our Heavenly Father is still good, so good despite and inspite of our failings . He’s got you!

2021 we are soooo ready for you. Happy New Year to all!

Trust His Heart
Babbie Mason
Lyrics
All things work for our good
Though sometimes we can’t
See how they could
Struggles that break our hearts in two
Sometimes blind us to the truth
Our Father knows what’s best for us
His ways are not our own
So when your pathway grows dim
And you just can’t see Him,
Remember you’re never alone
God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don’t understand
When you don’t see His plan
When you can’t trace His hand
Trust His Heart
He sees the master plan
He holds the future in His hand,
So don’t live as those who have no hope,
All our hope is found in Him.
We see the present clearly
But He is the First and the last
Like a tapestry weaving
Like you and me
To be just like Him
He is faithful And true
He alone knows what’s best for you
