New Regulations On Consular Services In Response To The COVID-19 Pandemic

1. Consulate Office Hours

Effective Monday, 16 March 2020, the Consulate will be open from 10:00am to 3:00pm only.

2. Passport Appointment

Effective Monday, 16 Monday 2020, passport applications is strictly by appointment. Please do not come to the Consulate without an appointment. To make an appointment, please check our website: www.chicagopcg.com. Likewise, effective immediately until July 2020 (or until the COVID-19 situation improves or stabilizes), the releasing of passports will be done by mail only. Personal pickup of new passports will not be allowed in order to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection to the public. Applicants should ensure that they can monitor or track their mailing envelopes in order to avoid the loss of their new passport.

3. Notarials

Effective Monday, 16 March 2020, applications for notarials (e.g. legal documents, acknowledgment, jurat, NBI, etc.) is strictly by appointment. Please do not come to the Consulate without an appointment. To make an appointment, please check our website: www. chicagopcg.com. Likewise, effective immediately until July 2020 (or until the COVID-19 situation improves or stabilizes), the releasing of notarial documents will be done by mail only and personal pickup will not be allowed. Applicants should ensure that they can monitor or track their mailing envelopes in order to avoid the loss of their document/s.

4. Civil Registration

Effective Monday, 16 March 2020, until July 2020 (or until the COVID-19 situation improves or stabilizes), all civil registry applicants should send their applications for Reports of Birth, Marriage or Death by mail in order to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection to the public.

5. Dual Citizenship

Effective Monday, 16 March 2020, the Consulate will temporarily suspend the processing of dual citizenship applications. Likewise, the oath taking ceremony for dual citizens is hereby suspended effective today, 13 March 2020, in order to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection to the public. A new schedule will be announced accordingly, once the situation has improved or stabilized.

6. Visa Applications

Effective immediately, all visa applicants must submit their notarized applications by mail. In addition to the usual requirements, applicants must also submit their 30-day travel history, including travel by sea.
