Presenting the 2018 Chicago Filipino Asian American Hall of Fame Inductees

Coming up very soon on November 10, 2018, to be exact, is the 24th annual Chicago Filipino Asian American Hall of Fame gala event to be held at Hyatt Regency O’Hare, a pet project of Via Times Publication to support its sister company, the Chicago Philippine Reports TV (CPRTV) and other charitable causes locally and in the Philippines. For this year, we chose again the Children’s Village of the ABS-CBN’s Bantay Bata Foundation to share with our gala event proceeds.

Twenty outstanding well-selected individuals representing diverse areas of expertise, excellence and exemplary leadership, conduct and performance in their own fields of interest and/or profession, will be inducted into the most celebrated and recognized gala event in our community.

You will have a great time in knowing each of these fantastic recipients who are featured in our cover this month and on the inside pages with their impressive pictures and bios. You will be so proud to know these amazing individuals who have been doing great jobs and reaping success upon success and accolades upon accolades with what they do. They have demonstrated uncommon, innovative, and civic responsibility, and they have excelled and achieved so much for the encouragement and betterment of the Filipino/Filipino American community and the community atlarge. A pride to our community and to the mainstream communities as well, they have served as an inspiration and role model to many people, making them so very deserving of this prestigious award.

If you are amazed, we always amaze ourselves, too, in finding out and knowing that these remarkable people are in our midst, shining like gold and sparkling like jewels.

Quoting Governor Bruce Rauner, who is a past HOF recipient as “Friend of Filipino in Public Service,” “This is also an exciting year across Illinois as we commemorate our state’s 200th birthday in 2018. During the yearlong Bicenpages tennial celebration, we pay tribute to the people, places, and things that are born, built, and grown here every single day. Together, we can inspire pride in Illinois and show the world what makes this state so great — and that includes the Chicago Filipino Asian American Hall of Fame Inductees!

Hence, you don’t forget to enjoy reading your favorite columnists’ interesting anecdotes, opinions and community news and reports under their individual columns that you haven’t read anywhere else, as Via Times is not a news lifter from the Internet. This is something that we have been prouf of through our 35 years of existence.
