Just about three weeks for 2020 election as I write this, which many voters consider to be the most important election in the history of our beloved country, the USA. Why important? It is because we believe that this is a very different kind of political fight that does not involve two divergent parties of the Democrats versus the Republicans, but it is actually a fight between two ideologies, democracy/capitalism versus socialism/communism. So, the choice depends on us at the polling place on November 3, how we want to face our future or our children’s and grandchildren’s future.

Happy to note though that the Filipino Americans’ involvement to this election all over the country is so remarkable. I have not witnessed such active political involvement of our ethnic group particularly, until now. Could it be that we woke up to the American political system or Filipinos just love President Donald J. Trump, reasons for the involement? Let me mention and congratulate some of these groups that I happen to run across, work with and meet with during the campaign rallies and on Facebook postings. They are: Filipinos for Trump, Filipino American Conservatives for Trump, Filipino Americans for Trump, FilAms Keep America Great, Pinoy Americans for Trump, Fans of President Trump, President Trump Washington State, Filipinos in the Midwest for Trump 2020, Filipino American Conservatives for Trump, Surigaonon in Chicago, and Filipino media, Filipino American Times, Fil-Am World Magazine, FilAm Star Talk, Indiana Filipino Times, Via Times, and more. Pinoy’s feverish excitement are all over!

On the right side of this page, you will see the lineup of my Zoom interviews on CPRTV show since we resumed (after lockdown) the broadcast of our only Filipino TV Show in Chicago. What is a Zoom interview? It is a video conferencing software that lets you connect remotely for video or voice-call meetings or interviews. Its popularity has surged due to work at home and 6-feet distancing lifestyle health rules due to the pandemic. Zoom is a perfect innovation for our sister broadcast media. Besides the Zoom interviews, CPRTV, our sister broadcast media can now be seen daily, from 3 to 4PM, on Chicago Cable 25 (Comcast, RCN & Cable Channels). Another good news, CPRTV can also be watched on YouTube Channel. Call me if there’s any need for TV coverages our there!

Congratulations and happy birthday to a beautiful lady and wonderful woman for reaching her wonderful centenarian years, 100 years old (pictured and featured below)! Angelina Buenaventura Ilada, born Oct. 1, 1920 in Guimba, Nueva Ecija, third from the eldest of four and the only girl in the family. She met husband, Patricio C. Ilada, when she was pursuing her studies at Arellano University in Manila, earning a bachelor’s degree in Education, major in Special Education. She taught Commerce at FEU after college. When her family immigrated to the US in the 1980’s, she worked with different American companies, as well as an activity director in a nursing home, and the last is Maryville Academy as family educator, working with infant and children, before her retirement.

The happy Ilada couple are blessed with 10 children, 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

The secret to her longevity? She shares with VT reader, playing word games and a lot of faith and prayers. The Ilada tribe is increasing everyday, and yet the grand matriarch Angelina does not even look a year older than 60- or 70-year-old accomplished and blessed woman.
