FAS of Iowa Names Two Outstanding Youth as its 2025 Scholars

The Filipino American Society of Iowa (FAS) announced its two recipients of FAS Scholarship Awards for the 2025-2026 academic year. FAS has been helping young, college-bound students through its scholarship program. It is based on merit and the desire of the applicant to use financial support to finish college studies. The application is open to any Filipino or Filipino of descent anywhere in the country. Many of its scholars have graduated from prestigious universities across America.
This year, the two outstanding recipients are John Penalbar from Texas and Raelyn Lund from Iowa. John Penalber plans on attending the University of Texas at San Antonio with a major in Public Health leading to medical studies. John has been involved as a volunteer with the Filipino Culture Club, Philippine Nurses Association, and the Filipino American Chamber in San Antonio.
He graduated with High Honors in Health Careers High School! Raelyn Lund plans on attending Iowa State University with a major in Communications.
