Josefina Abaya WeeSit

Josefina P. Abaya, age 91, of Tinley Park. Cherished wife of the late Tito; beloved mother of Elma Wee Sit (Thomas Leonard), Evro (Marilyn) and Ervin (Kimberly), and the late Emil Wee Sit; loving grandmother of Emilia and James Wee Sit; fond sister of the late Oscar Abaya.
Josefina was born and raised in the Philippines. She earned a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of the Philippines and taught high school for several years before immigrating to the United States in 1970. For a short time was a Merchandise Buyer for Sears Roebuck & Co., ultimately returning to the education field as a Special Education Teacher at Saint Colleta/The Kennedy School in Chicago.
Visitation April 26th beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 7399 West 159th Street. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
