Trauma, Drama, Karma … Memories of a Lifetime
By: Nancy Abiera
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
This Fall of 2024 marks my 40 years living in America. The number 40 means testing, transition and transformation. Presently, I have 66 years collection of memories of my life. Some are great while some are not too great. Looking back, I must say, it was worth every moment of my life. The many unpleasant mess (or mistakes in life) became my life lessons. I learned to give all these MESS to God and He crafted them to MESSAGES. Thank God.
Just to give you some backdrop. . .
According to Bessel van der Kolk, MD, author of the book, “The Body Keeps the Score”, he eloquently articulates how overwhelming experiences affect the development of the brain, mind, and body awareness, all of which are closely intertwined. The resulting derailments have a profound impact on the capacity for love
I strongly agree with this author as I witnessed and ministered to so many people of all genders, status, ethnicity, etc. carrying pains and trauma of the past.
Unfortunately, most of these folks have deep imprints in their minds that get triggered again and again as if it is currently being experienced. This is mostly the reason there are too much drama in life because of the trauma that creates the karma looping over and over.
Another reason why this is unfortunate is because research shows that humans often remember negative or traumatic experiences more over positive ones. This persistent recall of negative memories might be an evolutionary defense mechanism, but it can also lead to psychological impediments, like SAD (Stress. Anxiety and Depression)
There are many therapies available out there which are helpful but some people are clueless where or when to start perhaps because of shame. Many become miserable and endure the trauma and pain while re-experiencing the trauma repeatedly. There is hope as we can begin to pray expecting God for miracles.
Just for clarity comparing the two words “MIRACLES” OR “MISERIES”

Choosing MIRACLES will bring health to your body, soul and spirit that also brings restoration to you brokenness and relationships with God, others and yourself.
Imagine your mind is like a computer that stores all your memories from the time of your conception up to this present time.
Pray: Lord Jesus, I invite you in my heart as my Savior. Thank you for the gift of forgiveness and salvation as you bring healing and wholeness for me today. Jesus, be with me as I travel back to memory lane and help me to be strong to face them head on. Give me strength and determination to move forward as I cast (throw) them to the sea of forgetfulness. (Pause for a few moments in silence as you meditate and reflect. Write down any picture or words or memories the Lord reveals to you)
In Jesus’ name, I delete every unpleasant and/or traumatic visions, imaginations, pictures, feelings and emotions including memories of people, places, pain stored in my mind and body. I give them all to you so you can replace them with your love, joy, peace and bring complete healing to my body, soul and spirit. Thank you Jesus for healing me and making me whole.
Note: Now, imagine your best self smiling while taking deep breaths inhaling God’s love, joy, peace, healing, etc. and exhaling all the sad, unpleasant and painful traumas. Keep doing this until you experience lightness inside of you, a sense of carefree experience of victory.
I pray all these in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Indeed my life’s traumas became my triumphs. . . my dramas turned to dreams come true. . . and the karma transformed to being my charm.
I would like to use Disney’s “When you wish upon a star” tune using the lyrics as follows:
When you pray to Jesus Christ. . . Makes no difference who you are . . . When you pray to Jesus Christ. . . Your dreams come true. Always choose “On A Bright Side” moving further and farther “On A Brightest Side”. I love you readers with the love of the Lord yet the Lord loves you the most. You are blessed. Smile and be a blessing!
