Thanksgiving Is A Prelude to Christmas

By: Veronica Leighton

Thanksgiving, a prelude to Christmas, is another traditional holiday that involves families and friends for the memorable celebrations in partaking specialty treats and thankful for all the blessings. Thanksgiving is a holiday that celebrates gratitude, too. As you can learn from our editorial on Thanksgiving, same page, Thanksgiving is not only celebrated in the U.S., but globally.

Sharing the same month with Thanksgiving, is another official Holiday, the Veterans Day, falling on November 11 every year, with its National Ceremony being held at the National Cemetery every year. On this day, we salute and honor all the veterans who had and have served and fought for this country’s freedom.

Our Cover Girl this month is Ms. Evelyn O. Francia, a pretty lady and a very popular singer and leader in our community. Evelyn is also announcing the launching of her first solo single “Open Our Hearts”. Also read her very interesting and extensive write-up with accompanying memorable photographs of her exciting singing career in the inside page of VT.

As you can glean from the photos we have here, we are thankful to the honor given to us by Mayor Irvin of the city of Aurora, on the October celebration of the Filipino America History Month (FAHM), a first-time recognition for the contributions of Filipino American leaders and members of the Aurora community. Please read Veronica’s Vibes on page 5.
