Evelyn Francia launching of first solo single, “Open Our Hearts

Born and raised in Murphy, Quezon City, Philippines, a passion for music bloomed within Evelyn O. Francia from a young age. By the age of three, she could already sing along to songs like “Hang Down Your Head, Tom Dooley” by the Kingston Trio, demonstrating a natural inclination towards performance. The high stairs of the family home served as her first stage, where she would don high heels from her mother’s closet and belt out tunes.

Evelyn’s father, a military serviceman, fostered a love for American music by playing records throughout the day. This exposure, coupled with her mother’s encouragement to sing for her fellow nurses and patients, laid the foundation for her artistic journey.

Evelyn O. Francia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) from the UERM Medical Center College of Nursing in 1980. While still a student, [he/she] was recognized for [his/her] talent by Professor Romulo Pizana, choral director of the UP-Music Conservatory. Professor Pizana invited her to join the prestigious Hush Singers of the Philippines as a member and soloist. This marked her first foray into formal musical performance, which included opening for gospel singer Amy Grant.

Evelyn faced challenges early on, including a speech impediment that manifested as stuttering. This led to misunderstandings, with her silence being misinterpreted as muteness. However, she found solace in art and poetry, winning a first prize for her creativity in kindergarten. Music also became a powerful tool for self-expression. Her music teacher recognized her vocal talent and encouraged her to participate in class performances. This helped her overcome shyness and build confidence.

Another challenge arose when she experienced spiritual confusion despite a comfortable life. Guided by a medical school friend, Evelyn found solace in faith and joined a Praise and Worship group. This marked a turning point, leading [him/her] to accept Jesus Christ into her life. Although initially hesitant, she embraced opportunities to sing in church, including solo performances arranged by a choir director who recognized her voice. This ultimately led to a 25-year commitment to singing with the Santo Nino of the Midwest choir alongside guitarist Melchor Paliza

A recent highlight of Evelyn’s career was a special guest appearance in a mall tour concert across four cities in the Philippines, as the only regular guest singer for the Nick Vera Perez second album “Laging Ikaw” promo-tour at the age of 67. This experience serves as a testament to the enduring nature of her passion and the opportunities that can arise at any stage of life. Evelyn aspires to record songs that have resonated throughout her career, preserving them as a legacy for family, friends, and supporters. She remains open to collaborating with composers like Adonis Tabanda, expressing gratitude for the success of the single “Open Our Hearts which she performed live for the first time at the extremely level-up dance event SALTARE DEUX, during the Beyond 50 birthday celebration of NVP as produced by NVP1World. She currently now is officially a recording artist celebrated on the very same day the song was released all over the world digitally. Open Our Hearts promises an inspiration to pursue God to have long lasting peace inside our hearts.

Several individuals have played a significant role in shaping Evelyn’s musical journey. Professor Romulo Pizana’s invitation to join the Hush Singers provided a crucial platform for her talent. Melchor Paliza, duet partner and guitarist with the Santo Nino of the Midwest choir, embodied dedication to serving the church through music. Ferdie Cruz, a former member of the Twisted Visions Band, instilled the importance of style and control in vocal delivery. John Berardi, a choir director, offered continuous guidance and mentorship, while Alex Simbol, director of the Eastern Cluster Simbang Gabi choir, impressed her with patience, humility, and musical expertise.

Ultimately, music serves as the language for her soul, a bridge connecting her to her family, church, and community. It fosters a sense of belonging and provides a platform for self-expression that continues to resonate throughout her life.

Evelyn offers dedication and practice: focusing on identifying and strengthening weaknesses in performance, openness to feedback embracing constructive criticism and adapting to evolving trends. humility and professionalism: maintaining a humble attitude while avoiding disruptive influences and presentation and image: cultivating a polished stage presence through proper attire and conduct as some of her advice for aspiring singers.

Evelyn wishes to thank her NVP1World Entertainment, LLC family for giving her the opportunity to have a crown that solidified her singing journey through the guidance of Nick Vera Perez. She is married to Nestor Francia. She graduated Nursing at University of the East.
