Asteria Glimane Bhandari, R.N., or Aster to her many friends, professional colleagues and fellow community builders in Chicagoland’s Filipino American community, was one very unforgettable Lady whose smile and Happy look at life makes a rainy day shine! Sadly, what remains in our hearts today is “the Shadow of Aster’s smile”when her happy life was snapped by a car accident last January 17, 2015, in New Delhi, India, her husband Ben’s country of origin, who was also badly injured but survived. Both retired, the couple maintains several businesses in Chicago and in India. Aster’s sudden death brought so much grief to almost everyone who knows and love her, the outpouring of grief is so touching particularly from their six successful grown-up children.
