UP President Jimenez Headlines UPAAA Grand Reunion & Convention 2023

The 22nd Biennial Grand Reunion and Convention (GRC) of the University of the Philippines Alumni Association will be held on October 19- 22, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, New Jersey. This year’s GRC is back to an in-person event that would bring together UP alumni from across America and other countries. Intense event preparations have been rolled out, including invitations to participants and sponsors. Outstanding UP Alumni and Alumni group will be selected and honored during the GRC Gala.

Topping the list of GRC speakers is no less than the 22nd President of the University of the Philippines Angelo “Jijil” Jimenez. President Jimenez bested other equally outstanding aspirants for the UP presidency. In a speech after his selection, President Jimenez said, “Ideas are the life and blood of the university and academic freedom is the cardiovascular system. We have to protect this system so ideas can flow and make a very healthy institution.”

This year’s proceeds from the GRC will benefit UPAAA’s Scholarship Projects and sustain other meaningful projects which benefit the UP System and the communities in the Philippines and in the US.
