CHANGING ‘PILIPINOS’ TO `FILIPINAS’, ETC.

Dear PHILIPPINE MEDIA and PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINES: There was some talks and attempts to change our PILIPINAS, PILIPINOS to FILIPINAS and FILIPINOS.. For millions who are educated Pilipinos, they do not want to bother to change all books, all laws of the Philippines that have been written with the words PILIPINOS and PILIPINAS on it… Another simple and obvious reason not to change it because most, if not all, PILIPINOS whenever they try to say the words with “F”, they simply say it with a sound of a “P” anyway.. Here some few examples: 1. What is the name of your father? My paders name is pernando pernandes. 2. Give me an example of names or places that start with the letter “F”..Here are his answers: ( A) I have a pren who lives in aprica and his pader owns a parm where they harbest pruts that they sell them to a big pactory of pruts and bedstabols. If the government decides to change PILIPINOS to FILIPINOS, then we hope they can also change the ATTITUDES of the PILIPINOS on how they vote their candidates for presidents, senators and all the government offices. They should also change those CORRUPT and Overstaying Senators and Congressmen and send them to JAIL. Those people who propose to change the “PHILIPPINES,” are those who do not want to change the “MODUS Operandi” of the people, especially their “BAD HABITS”, in voting. This idea is “RIDICULOUS.” They should instead concentrate and focus their attention in CORRECTING the WRONGS in the government, so that the money “STOLEN” or “LOST,” could be recovered in one way or another. We want to vote for QUALIFIED, HONEST, FRESH and BRIGHT can- SUBSCRIPTION didates, who do not belong to the “DYNASTY FAMILY.” We are URGING the MEDIA to help expose the wrongdoings of those guilty of criminality in the government or in the private sectors; they can not be “NEUTRAL” when they know that a certain officials are guilty or not. Like in the case of President Noynoy Aquino, the DAP and the PDAF were found by the Supreme Court to be unconstitutional, but they have not found anything “ANOMALOUS” on the part of the President. Finally, “We the People, are NOT in favor of changing the PILIPINOS to FILIPINOS, for OBVIOUS reasons. Thank you very much and “MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS”… Danny Prado

LANDMARK VOTING RIGHTS BILL PASSES IN SPRINGFIELD VOTING REFORMS WILL HELP ASIAN AMERICANS AND ALL IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES

In a huge victory for Illinois voters, legislators passed SB 172 which allows eligible residents to register and vote on Election Day, expands early voting, offers Grace Period Registration on university campuses, and modernizes our registration processes. The bill’s passage is seen as a huge victory for all eligible voters in Illinois, but for Asian Americans and all immigrant communities, these changes will be particularly impactful. “Have you ever had your name spelled wrong in the election book? Have you ever moved shortly before Election Day? Did you just become a naturalized citizen? Election Day Registration ensures that all of our Asian Americans can cast a ballot,” said Tuyet Le, Executive Director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice— Chicago (Advancing Justice— Chicago). “Immigrant and lowincome communities are among the most transitory in our state. Election Day Registration is essential if we want full participation from our community members.” “On November 4 we heard from a wide array of Asian Americans who used Election Day Registration. Some voters recently moved to new addresses, while others just felt compelled to vote for the first time,” said Kathleen Yang- Clayton, Director of Policy and Programs for Advancing Justice— Chicago. “Without Election Day Registration, our community’s voice would have been stifled this past November.” TUYET LE (AAA JUSTICE)
