February: A Two-Fold Celebration

It’s official; February is here, the National Heart Month and Valentine’s Day. I’m excited about this month with the love, hearts, the colors red and pink, and everything about Love. The heart is my favorite part of my body, yes, I am definitely romantic at heart. “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

I completely understand that it doesn’t have to be Valentine’s Day to share love, but this month is a powerful celebration with the whole world participating.

This is a great time to show someone that you love them. It can be your spouse, significant other, child, parent, sibling, or friend. We have to share love. Life is too short and we have no guarantee of tomorrow. Everyone wants and needs love. It is the universal medium of exchange. Is there anything more satisfying than being fully present at the moment, with the people that we care about? Make friends with yourself first. Be your own best friend, then, spread the love like an infectious disease. Bear in mind that time can be love’s friend or foe, so make sure you keep your relationships current and intact. Loving relationships are the music of life. We’d be fools not to learn the tunes. Harmonious relationships are the sweet notes in my existence.

This month, we’re thrilled to share wonderful stories of our guests that we have interviewed for Wassup?! Jovie Calma LIVE being aired at CPRTV. The core of my conversation was about their passion and love of their work. We met Beba Georgieva, one of the co-founders and developers of the concept of Moi Soli with Daina Kaleja, through their personal experiences in the fashion industry and their educational backgrounds.

Beba’s desire to bring awareness to European brands comes from her background. She was born and raised in Bulgaria and lived there for almost half of her life. She came to the United States with the desire to create a better life for herself. Yet, since age 15, fashion had become her lust. As a result, she had gained access to Chicago’s societal and fashion life, worked with Oscar-winning designer and has done lots of charity work for many organizations in the city. She has been modeling for the past four years professionally with designers from Chicago, New York, LA, and Miami. She participated in Chicago Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week.

Her pictures were printed in numerous magazines, such as Chicago Bridal Magazine, Splash, and other small fashion-oriented magazines. She can be seen on many of the websites for the local Chicago designers. Through her current position as a Marketing Director in a prestigious Chicago law firm, Beba is in charge of all of the firm’s marketing events. She understands how to represent the company, grabbing attention with modern web design and constant presence on the social media channels.

Daina has been passionate about fashion and art since young age. She was born and raised in Latvia and lived bigger part of her live there until coming to the United States. Following her passion, she graduated from a hair-styling institute in Latvia, and worked as hair stylist for a few years while pursuing business degree. In the world of fashion, Daina has enjoyed modeling for various bridal designers and other local photographers in building a greater portfolio for herself.

In current position, she handles customer relations, organizes corporate events, and she is also entirely responsible for company’s social media coverages. Recent business degree from DePaul University has helped her to connect the dots. It empowered her to transform passion into real life business, and to start a high-end lingerie company.

Daina and Beba recognized there were limited choices of European brands readily available to the US market. They also recognized the interest consumers have in purchasing quality products that offer unique and special designs beyond the mass marketed brands for women’s intimate apparel. This ready-to-wear lingerie and nightwear is designed and hand-made entirely in Europe and it guarantees uniqueness of the product. Moi Soli understands the sophisticated consumer and it is bringing luxury quality products to their evening experience.

On Friday, February 12th, just in time for Valentine’s Day, Chicagoans will have the opportunity to see the collection up-close & personal at the launch of their Galore Nightwear Collection, Moi Soli. This will be held at the L&A Healing Studio, 1620 S. Michigan Avenue Store #300, Chicago, IL. Produced by Benjamin Cottrell Designs. Moi Soli will also be part of the Bridal Expo Chicago on February 24th at Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook. They will showcase their exquisite European high-end lingerie & nightwear.

Before I end my article, allow me to share my special birthday wishes to Jillian Alonzo (Feb. 4), Girlie Pascual (Feb. 7), Ninang Gloria Torres (Feb. 19), Joyce Cachapero (Feb. 21), RJ Alzol (Feb. 23), and Chrizel Valverde (Feb. 24).

This love month, give LOVE everyday. Do what you need to do. Think what is good for you. Be a better person than before. You are competing yourself. Don’t ever quit & constantly strive until you succeed. If someone hurts you, then pray to God to give what is best for him/her. If you didn’t do anything bad to anyone then you don’t have to worry a lot. Be proud about yourself for how great person you are. Go to sleep with your dreams & wake up with a purpose. In making this as routine, you will be living the life the way it should be lived.
