Philippine Independence Week Committee

January 17, 2024 – Allegra Banquets Schiller Park

The annual grand opening or kick-off of the Philippine Independence Week Committee (PIWC) 2024 for the upcoming 125th celebration of the Philippine Independence on June 12th was held last January 27, 2024 at the Allegra Banquets Schiller Park.

The colorful and festive evening opened with Parade of Colors around the ballroom, headed by Kick-Off chair Neneth Miranda with Co-Chairs Elsa Castillo, Precy Javarata, and Mysyl Quillo (Robert Chavez and Nestor Castillo as flag bearers) followed by presentations of native dances, such as the Malong Malong dance by the Sampaguita Cultural Group, Igorot dance with “Alamat” dramatic execution by Edith Ilagan and Levi Aliposa; inductions of officers of BOT and committees, and presentation of past and current PIWC Queens and Princesses

Hon. Consul Ella Karina R. Mitra was the guest speaker and inducting officer (introduced by Dely Villalon); Invocation by Pastor Nancy Abiera, Benediction by Elizabeth Vasich, with acceptance speech delivered by Overall Chair Jovy Sirianni and closing remarks from Dr. Nida Hernaez, chair-elect 2025. Decor by R Turija, Acknowledgment by Flor Castil and Emcee: Maritess and Ms. Magana.
