Eduardo Nunez (1944 – 2021)

Eduardo “Ed” Zaragoza Nuñez, age 77, of Skokie, formerly of Chicago. Beloved husband of Luz (nee Totañes) Nuñez for 53 years. Loving father of Antoinette (Wilbur Calicdan), Jean-Pierre (Margaret), Francis (Nathalie), and Giovanni (Mary Jo) Nuñez. Dear Papalo of Catarina, Sofi a, Adam, Laila, Violetta, Theo, Isadora, Giancarlo, and Mateo. Fond brother of Teresita (late George) Arguelles, Sr. Louisa Nunez, Jose (Betty) Nuñez, Grace Flores, and the late Evelyn (the late Mauro Jr.) Balnig, the late Erlinda (the late Guillermo) Lapid and the late Rogelio (Consuelo) Nuñez. Devoted uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Born in Manila, Philippines to the late Gloria, nee Zaragoza, and the late Jorge Nuñez; after graduating with a BS in Business from Philippines College of Commerce, Ed worked at the US Embassy before immigrating to the US in 1969. Changing to the medical industry, he successfully established a 35-year career in the fi eld of Respiratory Therapy retiring in 2016. He then traveled often and concentrated on doting on his family, especially his grandchildren.

Visitation Monday, October 18th from 3 pm to 8 pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S Milwaukee Ave (2 Blocks South of Dundee Rd), Wheeling. Novena Prayer at 6:30 pm. Funeral Prayers Tuesday, October 19th at 9:15 am and process for a Life Celebration Mass at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 10 N Buff alo Grove Rd. Inurnment private. To keep everyone safe and healthy, live-stream will also be readily available. Please contact the family directly for the link.
