Love or Lust?

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.

We celebrate Valentine’s Day in February where “love is in the air”.

We all agree: love is very powerful which brings life and healing. However, in its absence, it can be destructive to the point of death. Oftentimes, we settle for less that I call LUST. Did you know “when we mix LOve with luST, we get LOST”.

On a bright side, when love is fully experienced, it can be encouraging and inspiring. Why? Love is a happy pill that takes depression away; Love is free slowing down aging; Love boosts the immune system making us healthy: mind, soul/spirit and body; Love can even make us so determined to live life fully that even death can be overcome; Even just the feelings of being in love causes a major rush of hormones “oxytocin”, the “love/ pleasure hormones,”, etc. We feel intense feelings of fluttery excitement, attraction and euphoria; Love can strengthen empathy and our ability to process emotions. We become more kind and focused on others than self. It improves and deepens the bonding and strengthening of relationships. Nobody loses in love as it is win:win for all.

Please note that love is not just confined to thoughts, feelings and some romance. It is so deep that action is displayed in sincerity. We cannot fake it. It goes so deep to the heart and soul of a person.

Let us celebrate love and continue to express/experience love every moment, every day and not just on Valentine’s Day. Happy Love Day!
