New year, new offerings from GMA Network. On January 15th, GMA unveiled its fi rst offering for the year- “The One that Got Away”. It is a sexy romantic comedy that features three ex-girlfriends fi ghting over a man. It’s a dynamic story of how three women realized that they are still not over their ex-boyfriend. In a complicated twist and turns, the three compete and seek to complete their own love stories with him.

The three strong and independent women are being played by Rhian Ramos, Max Collins and Lovi Poe. The leading man who will be sought after by his three ‘crazy’ ex-girlfriends is the Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo. The teleserye began when Dennis Trillo’s character fi nds himself in an accident and ends up in a hospital bed. After waking up from a coma, he was surprised to see his three ex-girlfriends all huddled and in love again with him.

GMA Drama King Dennis Trillo is going to breathe life to Liam, as “The One That Got Away,” a smart and handsome entrepreneur, he comes from a wealthy family and lives in their ancestral home together with his nanny. He likes women with a sense of humor which is the common trait among his exes: Zoe, Darcy, and Alex. On the other hand, Kapuso heartthrobs Ivan Dorschner, Migo Adecer and the newest Kapuso Jason Abalos will also included on the light-hearted rom-com teleserye. These three leading men will showcase their acting prowess through a sexier and more daring side of them, never seen before on GMA Telebabad. Who will he choose? Whose love story will fi nally have a happy ending? Directed by Mark dela Cruz with Conrado Peru, may the best ex win!

This coming January 25th via GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Network takes viewers to a magical journey as they unveiled the newest adventure- fi lled fantasy series “Sirkus”. Produced by the award-winning GMA Public Affairs team, Sirkus is a family-oriented program about fraternal twins Mia and Miko who fi nd themselves in the company of a travelling circus called Sirkus Salamanca after trying to escape from the hands of an evil villainess. On the road, the twins will discover secrets about their new-found family as well as their own identities.

Portraying Mia and Miko are two of today’s promising young actors Mikee Quintos and Mikoy Morales. Mikee, who won as the Best New Female TV Personality at the 2017 Star Awards for TV, is best known for her role as Lira in the hit telefantasya series Encantadia. Mikoy, on the other hand, is a fi nalist in the reality TV show Protégé: The Battle for The Big Artista Break.

After their parents mysteriously disappear, Mia and Miko will have to rely on the protection of a rag-tag group of circus performers who include a magician, a fi re-breather, an acrobat, a strongman, and a clairvoyant. In the middle of this cat-and-mouse chase, the circus becomes key to revealing the truth about the siblings’ identity. They will eventually learn the reason behind the villainess’ obsession to catch them.

Joining Mikee and Mikoy in this colorful series are some of today’s brightest stars: Andre Paras, who plays the lovable strongman Martel; Chariz Solomon as the quirky clairvoyant Astra; Sef Cadayona as the funny acrobat Al; and Klea Pineda as the gorgeous fi re-breather Selfi ra. Veteran actor Gardo Versoza plays Leviticus—the leader of the Sirkus Salamanca who will serve as the father fi gure of the twins.

One the country’s best actresses known for her remarkable portrayals as an antagonist, Ms. Cherie Gil breathes life to the coldhearted and vengeful La Ora. Helping La Ora in her quest to catch Mia and Miko are her minions Luca (Divine Tetay) and Facundo (Gerard Arca). Playing special roles are Zoren Legaspi and Angelu de Leon as the twins’ parents Miguel and Liza. This latest Kapuso offering is created by Program Manager, Angeli Atienza. At the helm of this upcoming magical series is internationally- awarded writer/director Zig Dulay. Join Mia and Miko’s magical journey in Sirkus beginning January 25 via GMA’s fl agship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV.

Before I end my article this month, allow me to express my best wishes to all our readers and supporters, a great cheer for 2018! Life has no remote, get up and change it yourself. You miss 100% of the shots you never take- choices, chances, and changes. You must make a choice, to take a chance or your life will never change. In the end, more so than the mistakes that we made, we regret the chances we didn’t take, relationships we were afraid to have and the decisions we waited too long to make. My special birthday wishes to Ihman Esturco (Jan.1), Jon Algas (Jan. 1), Juliet Concon (Jan. 4), Florina Vocal (Jan. 7), Joanne Tinimbang (Jan. 7), Kuya Nick Alzol (Jan. 10), Nicole Alvarez (Jan. 15), Vence Abuyen (Jan. 20), Tita Beth Calma (Jan. 22), Epy Quizon (Jan. 23), Don Kramer (Jan. 24), and to my siblings- DJ Hot Rod Calma (Jan. 15) and Jennifer Zamora (Jan. 31).
