Frederick “Derrick” Villalon April 22, 1975 – Dec. 26, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick “Derrick” Villalon, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Derrick passed on December 26th at the age of 48. He was preceded in death by his father, Enrique, and sister, Liberty. Derrick was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in a close-knit family. Derrick was a loving husband to My Nguyen-Villalon and an upstanding father who always made an effort to provide for his family and friends in any capable manner. Outside of work, Derrick was an avid collector and a passionate fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox. He is also known for “McGuyvering” fixes for any problem his children or friends brought to him. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children, who brought him immense joy and pride. Derrick will be deeply missed by his children, Ethan (25), Cody (22), Noah (19), Freya (13) and Lincoln (7); his mother Dalisay “Dely”; his sisters, May and Dollyrose, his brother Enrique and many nieces and nephews. Derrick was laid in memoriam on December 29th at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles IL. Funeral Service was held on December 30th at 9:15 AM going to St. John Brebeuf Church, 8307 N. Harlem Ave., Niles IL for funeral mass 10:00 AM. Following the mass, Derrick was cremated and placed in the family mausoleum.
