FREE or NOT FREE (Soul Ties)

Belated Happy Independence (July 4th) Day! Today, we will accomplish true freedom.

It is unfortunate that many are not living free while some do not know how to experience true freedom. You probably have (or maybe not) heard about “Soul ties”. These are like knots, wirings and connections keeping us in bondage in relationships. There are godly/good soul ties as well as bad/ungodly/unhealthy soul ties. These include relationships to parents, family members, relatives, friends, lovers and other people whom have authority over us like pastors, teachers, coaches, bosses, etc. They are not limited to relationships with the living persons but applicable also to those relationships with people who had passed away.

We are supposed to be guided, led and controlled by the Holy Spirit in our thoughts, words and actions. However, when we feel controlled by people, things or places, it becomes ungodly and unhealthy. Why? Ungodly soul ties keep us bound with no fullness of freedom. However, healthy and godly soul ties affirm and bring out the best in us making us carefree: no limits, no ifs, and no buts. For example, when we are in relationships, the connections glue/bond us. Good soul ties bring good and pleasant relationship ties making us feel secure, loved, complemented and feeling good. On the reverse, bad soul ties cause brokenness and pain. Thus, binds us deeper and stronger in bitterness, anger, rage, etc. making us feel bad. Though people may have parted physically, there still remains sub-conscious ties that feel like we are connected still and even worst, bound to the person. Note that death, separation and/or divorce in marriage as well as breakups in non-marital and other kinds of relationships create soul ties which may be unhealthy. Note: as in the case of divorce, this may cut and void the legality of marriage. However, spiritually, the marriage is not cancelled in God’s eyes. God’s word specifically says: “What God has joined together, no man can separate.”

We all want freedom! No one will reject such and the good news is… God can grant true freedom when we ask.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, I come to you now acknowledging that I have made choices in my life that were not always wise, but sinful. As I confess my sins. . . (Pls. confess all your sins as the Lord leads you. . .) I humbly ask for your forgiveness for all of my past ungodly relationships. I repent/ renounce allowing myself to be controlled by others. I declare that Jesus delivered me from the bondage of any unhealthy and ungodly soul ties. I cancel and break all transgressions, iniquities and curses forever. Erase all pictures, images, visions, emotions, feelings, memories and other matters I experienced during the relationships that cause ungodly soil ties through, traumas/ hurts. Restore and heal me as I take back all the rights of my body, soul and spirit’s defilements that you carried and paid for on the cross. I pray for your resurrecting power bringing me full freedom. I command any unclean and all other evil spirits be removed and released from me now. I command them all to be sent back to where they came from. Return and restore back all the soul parts to its owners. I thank you that the blood of Jesus has power over all sins. I pray I now walk in your freedom and be a living testimony of true transformation and restoration that only comes from the Gospel of Jesus. I believe, receive and declare freedom in the mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
