Thanks from Dr, Angie Bhandari

Our Via Times senior editor Elsie Sy-Niebar, who writes feature stories from her heart, sent a follow-up note to Dr. Angelina Bhandari who lives in Texas; eldest daughter of the late Aster Glimane Bhandari, whose touching life story was VT’s April cover feature. Part of Elsie’s email: “Hi, Angie, hope all is well. How do you like our story on your Mom?”

Angie’s response:

“Hi, Tita. I loved it. I received Via Times one week before Mother’s Day. Needless to say, I was sad the whole week; the article just brought back so many memories. Also reading my siblings’ tributes was heartbreaking. I am doing better now. Dad is not yet back.

I will go to the Philippines in two weeks for our medical missions in honor of Mom. On June 7, Dad will return with me. I will bring several copies of Via Times. The people over there are anxiously waiting to see this US newspaper covering their small town. Thank you again. Tita.

Love you, Angie ”

Dear Veronica, Would you believe, I’ve been busy these past few days, answering calls from friends telling me that they have read the article.

(Did I not tell you of your wide readership?) … and I thought nobody would not come to know! I meant it to be a secret to them!

Dyahi, as we say in the dialect, I could have done better. naka-extra lang. tsamba…… thanks to veronica.

As for the extra copies, how nice of you! just keep them on file, and what do you know, we may just come around, or perhaps we can see each other on some UP picnic or Christmas program!

Thanks again! PUREZA PACIS

In this report, we highlight the work ComEd has done over the last three years as we undertake one of the most comprehensive grid modernization programs in the nation under Illinois’ one-of-a-kind Smart Grid Law.

Through our investments in smart grid, we are not only building a more resilient electrical system, we are also building a flexible system that enables us to seize emerging technologies and bring added value and services to customers. Indeed, we look to build on the foundation of the smart grid through ComEd’s Future Energy Plan (Senate Bill 1879) in the months to come.
